ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The men's basketball team of Elizabeth City State University (8-17, 5-9 CIAA, 3-4 North) secured a win against the number one team in the northern division, the Lincoln Lions (13-12, 9-6 CIAA, 6-2 North), with a score of 60-55.
The Vikings scored 36 points in the paint and 14 points from turnovers, with a shooting percentage of 46% on the night. On the defensive front, the Vikings turned the Lions over 15 times, which helped them secure their victory.
Freshman
Xavier Tubbs-Matthews led the Vikings with 16 points scored in a variety of ways. He also made three assists and had two steals.
The Vikings will play their next game on Saturday, February 17, at the R.L. Vaughan Center for senior night. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM, with the senior presentation taking place after the women's game.
