Box Score BOWIE, Md. -- Elizabeth City State dropped a closely contested 77–73 decision to Bowie State on Wednesday evening at A.C. Jordan Arena.
The Vikings moved to 3–17 overall and 2–12 in CIAA play, while Bowie State improved to 6–19 overall and 4–10 in the conference.
Elizabeth City State remained within reach throughout the game, trailing 35–33 at halftime. The second half featured multiple lead changes and eight ties, but Bowie State was able to hold off the Vikings down the stretch to secure the win.
Donovan Flamer delivered a standout performance for Elizabeth City State, scoring a game-high 30 points on an efficient 14-of-16 shooting from the field. He also recorded 12 rebounds to complete a double-double, along with two steals and two blocks.
Jaquantae Harris added 14 points and seven rebounds while converting all six free throw attempts. Trevor Smith contributed nine points, and Joseph Thompson provided eight points off the bench on 3-of-4 shooting.
Elizabeth City State shot 48.2 percent from the field and was effective at the free throw line, converting 17-of-19 attempts. The Vikings also scored 40 points in the paint and added 15 second-chance points.
Bowie State was led by KJ West with 23 points, while Guy Fauntleroy added 18 points.
