ECSU Falls to VCU 103-58 in Tough Road Matchup

Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) faced a challenging test on the road in Richmond, VA, falling to the 5-2 Rams of VCU 103-58. Despite a determined effort, the Vikings trailed 49-26 at halftime and were unable to mount a comeback in the second half.

Reggie Raynor led ECSU with 11 points and 7 rebounds, while Jaquantae Harris contributed 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Dericko Williams also chipped in with 7 points and 4 rebounds. Ali Barry and Kam Johnson shared playmaking duties, each dishing out a team-high 4 assists.

The Vikings lost a crucial part of their game plan when Michael Eads Jr. was ejected early in the second half after being assessed a Flagrant 2 foul. This setback halted the Viking's comeback run in the half.

Offensively, the Vikings were shooting 31% from the field, 20% from three-point range, and 65.4% from the free-throw line. They also had 34 Rebounds, 14 assists, 7 steals, and 26 points off the bench.

ECSU will look to regroup and defend their home court in their next match-up on Wednesday, December 4th, at 7 p.m. in the R.L. Vaughan Center against Barton College.
