Box Score ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Vikings outlast VSU in double-overtime to secure a 64-62 victory.
 
The Vikings improve to 12-9 overall, 5-6 in the CIAA.
 
ECSU shot 40.3 percent (25 of 62) from the field, 14.3 percent (2 of 14) from behind the arc, and 54.5 percent (12 of 22) at the line.
 
VSU shot 35 percent from the field (21 of 60), 19 percent (4 of 21) from behind the arc and went 76.2 percent (16 of 21) at the line.
 
Turnovers have been a struggle for the Vikinngs this year, but VSU turned the ball over 23 times. ECSU outscored the Trojans 25-14 off of those costly turnovers.
 
The Vikings were offensively led by freshman guard Jayden Beloti (Apex NC) with 18 points while also recording 8 rebounds on the night. Sophomore guard Jahmois Barnhill (Greenville, NC) added 10 points and senior forward Shykeef Daniels (Greenville, NC) led the Vikings rebounding efforts with eight boards.
 
Francis Fitzgerald led the Trojans in scoring with 19 points on the night, while Ter Hunter-Whitfield led the Trojans on the boards with 13 rebounds.
 
The Vikings will be back in action, taking on Shaw University at home on Saturday, February 5th. Tip-off is slated for 4 PM.
