Kentucky State shot 40 percent from the field (20 of 50), made 17.4 percent (4 of 23) behind the arc, and went 80 percent (16-20) at the line.

Zaccheus Hobbs (Maysville, NC) has continuously led the Vikings offensively throughout the non-conference play, ending the night with 16 points. Freshman guard
Jayden Beloti (Apex, MD) recorded 15 points, shooting 6-10 from the field. Belotti has become a go-to scorer for the Vikings, proving to be a rising star in the lineup.Â

The Vikings were able to control the ball and minimize turnovers, which the team has been struggling with this year. The Vikings only turned the ball over five times to Kentucky's 16 turnovers.Â

Despite trailing the Thoroughbreds, the Vikings maintained their composure while chipping away at the KSU lead until a layup by Hobbs tied the score 34-all with 16:58 left to play.Â

The game endured seven ties as the second half came within the two-minute mark and both teams were hungry for the win. A layup from Jayden Belotti tied the game at 60-all with 1:26 left to play. The Vikings ended the game on a 6-0 run to secure the 64-60 win.Â
