ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Vikings Men's Basketball team will be bringing in the new year in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, competing in the inaugural U.S Virgin Islands Classic Tournament. 
 
The USVI Basketball Classic will be played at Antilles' Mark C. Marin Center on St. Thomas from December 31-January 1.
 
"This is a remarkable opportunity for our student-athletes," said Sports Information Director Shalyn Moore. "I believe these are the opportunities that heighten the student-athlete experience on and off the court."
 
PARTICIPATING TEAMS:
Elizabeth City State University (CIAA)
Fisk University (NAIA)
Point Park University (NAIA)
Wayne State University (GLIAC)
 
The two-day tournament schedule lineup will feature the Vikings against Fisk University on Friday, December 31 at 5 PM. The Vikings will play Point Park University on Saturday, January 1 at 1 PM.

ECSU headed to VI with a 7-4 overall record, 2-1 in the CIAA.
 
The non-conference matchups over the holiday break will be an excellent way for the team to get ready for the deep dive into conference play that's ahead of them.
