Virginia State shot 50 percent from the three-point line to claim their fourth CIAA win of the season at Chowan on Wednesday night, 55-49. Junior guardÂ
Yazmen Hannah Senior went four of eight from behind the arc and four-of-four from the line to lead Virginia State with scoring 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks. JuniorsÂ

Ebony Reynolds rounded out the Trojans double digit scoring who finished with 10 points each, respectively. Â

The men's basketball team claimed an 87-81 victory over Chowan University Wednesday night at the Helms Center.
Jahmere Howze finished with a double-double performance with a game-high 26 points and 10 rebounds.Â
Jalen Jackson posted a 23-point performance, to go with four rebounds, one assist and one steal.Â
Cyonte Melvin finished the contest with contributing 13 points and six rebounds. The Trojans forced 15 Chowan turnovers in the contest.

In their last meeting, the Viking women defeated Virginia State 69-54 while the men dropped their contest to the Trojans by a 69-54 score.

OUTLOOK – ECSU WOMEN'S AND MEN'S BASKETBALL

Lincoln used 24 fourth quarter free throws to fuel a 29-15 closing run which boosted the Lions to an 82-76 CIAA win over ECSU. Freshman guardÂ
Asia Deal poured in 17 of her career-high 24 points during the first half while finishing with four steals and a team-high three steals for the Vikings who dropped their fourth straight decision in the North Division.

Lincoln erased a 17-point second-half deficit to steal a 70-68 win over ECSU. Lion junior guard Cameron Campbell hit a driving reverse layup with 31 seconds left. The Vikings had chances to come away with a win in the final ticks, but a pair of missed free throws by junior centerÂ
Tyjhai Byers and a loose ball on the ensuing rebound forced ECSU to foul Campbell with 6.3 seconds left. Campbell made his first free throw try but his second was rebounded by sophomore guardÂ
Shykeef Daniels. The Vikings pushed the ball up the floor, but Daniels' desperation 3-point attempt fell short and left of its target at the buzzer.
