ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – Coming off of a Homecoming split with North Division rival Chowan University on Saturday, the Elizabeth City State University basketball teams will continue the gauntlet of divisional play by welcoming in Lincoln University for a doubleheader on Wednesday night. ECSU Athletics will also welcome all ECSU faculty and staff for Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night. All faculty and staff will get in free to the games with a valid ECSU ID.

VIKING OUTLOOK – WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Vikings fell to 13-11 overall following a 78-61 loss on Saturday to rival Chowan. ECSU is 5-8 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and 2-4 in the Northern Division.

In the loss to the Hawks, the Vikings were led by senior
Jalyn Brown who poured in 18 points and never came off the floor for ECSU.
Devona Stell notched a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

On the season, the Vikings have three players who average double figures.
Naterria Luster leads the way with an 18.2 points per game average,
Jalyn Brown averages 14.6 points per contest and
Asia Deal rounds things out with a 12.4 points per game average.

Lincoln comes into the contest with a 13-11 record overall and a 7-6 mark in CIAA play. Currently, the Lions sit at 4-2 in the Northern Division. On Saturday, Lincoln dropped a 57-39 contest at home against Bowie State. Lincoln defeated ECSU in their previous meeting 60-57 back on January 23

Offensively the Lions are being led by Kwanza Murray who averages 16.1 points per game and DeAshia Young who supplements the scoring with 13.6 points per contest.

The Vikings improved to 12-12 overall and an 8-5 mark in the CIAA following an 84-76 win against Chowan on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings improved their divisional record to 2-4 with the win.

In the win on Saturday, junior
John Maynor poured in 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including a 7-for-11 mark from behind the three-point line.
Shykeef Daniels notched a 16-point effort, while
Shyheid Petteway scored 11 points for the Vikings.
