The teams played to a 30-30 tie at halftime and went on to exchange the lead 12 times in the second half.

The Vikings last lead came when Brachon Griffin nailed a jumper on an assist from Ward with 16 minutes left in the game. Avery Jirmnson snatched the lead back on the Panthers' next possession but the Vikings would trail by no more than six points until the closing minutes of the game.

VUU used a 9-0 run to take their largest lead of the contest with 2:17 remaining. A Glenn Patterson three-pointer then sparked an 8-1 spurt to pull the Vikings within a bucket, 66-62, with 50 seconds left.

Bullard was fouled and sent to the free throw line for two shots. After making the first, ECSU failed to secure the rebound on the second miss and Bullard pulled down the offensive board. He made good on his next two attempts to give the Panthers a 67-62 lead with 30 seconds to go.

The Vikings next miss lead to a breakaway score, solidifying the game for the home team. VUU got another free throw and Griffin added a layup as time expired for the final point spread.
