ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Fayetteville State University shot over 50% from the floor and the Broncos cruised to a convincing 75-54 win over Elizabeth City State University Monday night at the RL Vaughan Center.

After their much heralded hot shooting as of late, the Vikings struggled offensively from the floor versus the Broncos connecting on only 29% of their attempts. The Broncos led by nine (36-27) at the intermission but had their lead trimmed to a point, 40-39, with 16:39 to go in the game. Fayetteville State took control of the game with a 12-0 run and never looked back.

ECSU shooting percentage was their second lowest output of the season.

The Broncos led the entire contest with the exception of a 6-6 tie near the beginning of the game.

FSU shot 18-30 from the free throw line, out-rebounded the Vikings 43-28 and dominated the paint with a 24-8 advantage. The Broncos' bench also bested the ECSU reserves in scoring 38-13.

Carl McCray scored a team high 17 points to pace FSU who improves to 7-6 overall and 1-2 in the CIAA.

Miykael Faulcon finished with a game high 20 points for the ECSU.

ECSU (9-6, CIAA 2-1) will hit the road to face Livingstone College on Thursday in Salisbury, NC.
