AIKEN, SC- Caleb Stewart had a game high 21 points as USC-Aiken rolled past Elizabeth City State University 83-68 Friday night at the Convocation Center.
Stewart was one of four Pacers who tallied double figures as they improve to 3-1 on the season. Keith Belfield scored 18 points while Andre Anthony and Dominic Early chipped in with 17 and 15 points, respectively.
The Vikings, who trailed by five (33-28) at the intermission, was 34% from the field in the game on 24-70 shooting. ECSU held their opponent to 37% shooting in the first half but gave up 50 second half points where the Pacers shot a blistering 55% from the floor. They held their largest lead of the game, a 22 point spread (73-51) with 6:15 left in the contest.
Miykael Faulcon scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half to lead ECSU in scoring. Darrell Ward finished with a double-double of 18 points and 10 boards.
The Pacers opened the second half on an 11-4 run, including back-to-back three pointers by Andre Anthony to give USC-Aiken a double digit advantage that would hold the rest of the way.
ECSU (0-4) will take on Columbus State tomorrow at 3pm in the second day of the USC-Aiken Tipoff Classic.
