ECSU FALLS TO WASHINGTON ADVENTIST 50-47

TAKOMA PARK, MD-Washington Adventist University got a go-ahead field goal with 1:27 remaining and added a free throw in the waning seconds to edge Elizabeth City State University 50-47 Monday night at The Pitt.

Eric Lindsay's layup at the 1:27 mark was the last basket the Shock would hit from the field and it gave WAU a 49-47 advantage. Martin Wilson sank one of two free throws with 2 seconds left to seal the win.

The Vikings had their worst offensive outing of the young season, hitting on 15-54 shots from the field, a clip of 28%. ECSU was 0-15 from behind the three-point arc and missed ten free throws going 17-27 in the three point loss. ECSU has lost their three games this season by a combined seven points. Their first two setbacks were by two points each.

James Theus was the only Viking in double figures with 11 points in the contest. ECSU led by as much as nine in the game and held a 23-17 advantage at halftime. However the Shock opened the second half on 10-3 run and outscored ECSU 33-24 over the final twenty minutes.
