Final Stats

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Bowie State's Byron Westmorland erupted for 34 points as the Bulldogs foiled senior night for Elizabeth City State University, 87-77 Saturday afternoon at the RL Vaughan Center.

The Vikings will now enter next week's CIAA Tournament as the #2 seed in the CIAA North and will begin play on Thursday against the #3 seed in the CIAA Southern Division. Pairings and game times will be announced on Sunday morning.

Both teams shot solid percentages from the field on Saturday; the Bulldogs at 48% and ECSU at a 45% clip. However the Vikings struggled to rebound on the evening, surrendering 17 offensive boards to their opponent. The Bulldogs out-rebounded ECSU 47-31 and enjoyed an27-35 cushion from the free throw line.

ECSU did outscore the Bulldogs in bench points 37-10 including a season high 13 points from Shaquil Barber. Jaron Moore and Miykael Faulcon each netted 10 for the Viking reserves.

Angelo Sharpless, hampered by foul trouble all night, led the Vikings with 14 points.
