CHARLOTTE, NC- Johnson C. Smith University rolled to a victory over Elizabeth City State on Saturday, winning in dominating fashion 89-57 Saturday night at Brayboy Gymnasium.
Trevin Parks showed just why he is one of the top scorers in NCAA Division II as he torched the nets on Saturday for 32 points on 9-16 shooting including 5-7 from beyond the three-point arc. Parks did most of his damage in the second half with 19 points and a perfect 3-3 from downtown; the Golden Bulls put up a whopping 51 points in the second half, shooting a sizzling 66% from the field.
They finished the night shooting and impressive 53% from the field, converting 32 of 60 attempts.
On the other side the Viking suffered their worst offensive performance of the year, shooting a season worst 32% from the floor. They also tied their second worst turnover outing of 2012-2013 with 19 miscues on the evening.
Angelo Sharpless was the only Viking to net double figures with a team high 27 points, 21 of which came in the first half.
JCSU (10-5, CIAA 3-2) led 38-27 at the intermission.
