ECSU VIKINGS DEFEAT WASHINGTON ADVENTIST 70-57

TAKOMA PARK, MD- Elizabeth City State University used balanced scoring and tenacious defense to earn a 70-57 win over Washington Adventist University Wednesday evening.

After a back and forth first half ended with the Vikings ahead 35-30, ECSU turned up the defensive intensity in the second half. The Shock was held to just 10 field goals (30%) in the second half and shot 0-8 from behind the three point line after hitting 3-5 from beyond the arc before the intermission.

ECSU dominated the battle of the boards 48-34 and scored 16 points off of WAU turnovers.

Behind a game high 18 points from Rondy Tucker, the Vikings outscored the Shock (1-4) 35-0 in bench points. Tucker came into the game in the first half a provided a big spark going a perfect 5-5 from the floor. He missed only one field goal on the evening (9-10) and added 2 blocks and 9 rebounds in 21 minutes.

Blake Price and Glenn Patterson each scored 11 points apiece to round out ECSU's double figure performers.
