Final Stats
ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Senior All-American Anthony Hilliard etched his name in the ECSU record books as he recorded his 1,000th career rebound in the Vikings' 77-65 win over Livingstone College Tuesday night at the RL Vaughan Center.
He is now the second man in school history to grab 1,000 rebounds in a career. Oscar Smith was the first to accomplish the feat back in 1968. Hilliard finished the night with his 51 career double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds.
Trent Bivens had the hot hand on Tuesday night leading all scorers with 22 points. The Vikings dominated the majority of the contest and with 6:41 remaining in the game led by Blue Bears by 20 (61-41)points. However sloppy play down the back stretch of the game led to 19 Livingstone (8-11, CIAA 4-10) points in the final four minutes of play. Their deficit proved to be too much though for the Blues Bears who won the battle of the boards 50-39.
Demond Hickman scored a season high 15 points in his first start of the season.
Sean Booker led the Blue Bears with 19 points while Santonio Springs added a double-double of 12 points at 11 rebounds.
The Vikings (16-5, CIAA 9-4) will play Saint Paul's College this Saturday in Lawrenceville, VA. Game time is scheduled for 2:00pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
