MURFREEESBORO, NC- Matt Nowlin and Brian West scored 18 points apiece to lead the Elizabeth City State Vikings past Chowan University 78-67 Tuesday evening.
With the win ECSU picks up their second road win of the year and improve to 10-4 overall, their best start under Viking head coach Shawn Walker.
As a team the Vikings were on fire from long range, connecting on a season high 14 three-pointers in the game. After trailing 35-30 at the break, Matt Nowlin provided a much needed spark connecting on five three-pointers to tally 15 of his 18 points in the second stanza. Anthony Hilliard collected his 29th career double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Chris Kenon paced the Hawks (7-11) with a team high 13 points.
