RALEIGH, NC- Hayward Fain's lay-up with 2 seconds remaining lifted the Saint Augustine's College Falcons past Elizabeth City State University 75-74 at Emery Gymnasium.

That last second shot gave the Falcons the victory despite a gutsy second half Viking comeback by. First, the Falcons were the beneficiaries of the double bonus only five minutes into the second stanza. Upon further protest, ECSU was forced to play the duration of the game without the help of head coach Shawn Walker who was ejected after receiving his second technical with 16:31 left in regulation. With those obstacles in front of them the Vikings mustered a comeback from 19 points down and with assisted lay-up from Anthony Butler to Ken Alston with 1:26 to go the Vikings took their first lead of the game 69-67.

The Vikings clung to a 71-68 advantage until a 3-pointer by Jamar Green followed by a Fain lay-up gave the Falcons (3-0, 2-0) a 73-71 lead. The Viking got another lift when Jamal Rouse connected from long range giving ECSU a slim 74-73 with 16 seconds left. After a called timeout by SAC, Fain's lay-up sealed the win for the home team. Jeff Sullivan paced the Falcons with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

For the second straight game Anthony Butler led ECSU is scoring with a game high 19 points off the bench. Anthony Hilliard registered his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds, the 22nd of his career. Brain West and Olajuwon Johnson chipped in with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The Vikings (3-2, CIAA 2-1) will return to action on Thursday, December 2 when they play host to the defending NCAA Division II National Champions, the Barton College Bulldogs. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm for more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
