ELIZABETH CITY, NC-The Elizabeth City State University Vikings downed the Fayetteville State Broncos 66-61 Saturday night at The RL Vaughan Center.
After facing a 34-29 halftime deficit, the Vikings turned up their intensity holding the Broncos to just 27 second half points. The Broncos shot only 37% from the field to 46% for the Vikings. The Vikings held the edge in both points of turnovers (29-15) and points in the paint (40-30). Ben Bridges led all scorers with 18 points and a game high 7 rebounds while Anthony Hilliard 17 points. The Broncos, who were led by Andy Gebru, fall to 8-7 overall and 1-5 in the CIAA.
