Final Stats
ATLANTA, GA- The Elizabeth City State Viking basketball team got its first win of the 2005-2006 basketball season with a 78-47 win over Clark-Atlanta University Saturday night in Atlanta, GA.
The ECSU bench outscored the Panther bench 30 to 11 and doubled the home team in points in the paint 24-12. The Vikings, who shot 50% from the field for the game (27-53), were led by Ben Bridges 21 points and 9 rebounds. After leading by 14 at the half (38-24) the Vikings went onto score 40 points in the second half, including shooting 4-6 from behind the three-point line. Tyrone Green contributed 14 points and 5 assists while Mitchell Moffatt added 12 points and 9 boards. Maurice Wilkerson and Courtney Castro added 11 apiece to round out the double figure scorers for ECSU. The high man for the Panthers was Jaquas Dobbs who finished with 9 points.
The Vikings will return to action November 25-26 as they travel to Charleston, WV to participate in the Embassy Suites Classic hosted by the University of Charleston ECSU will face West Virginia State Friday November 25th at 6:00pm and will take on the University of Charleston Saturday November 26th at 8:00pm.
