Elizabeth City, NC -- Elizabeth City State University Men's Basketball (8-6, 2-3 CIAA) showcased their dominance in Game 2 of their three-game home stand, securing an impressive 82-73 victory over Livingstone College. With five players scoring in double figures, the Vikings cruised to the win and continued to build momentum in conference play.
Leading the charge was Jaquantae Harris, who exploded for 20 points and added 7 rebounds, putting on a clutch performance in front of the home crowd. Reggie Raynor followed with 14 points and 5 rebounds, while Xavier Tubbs-Matthews recorded a double-double with 13 points and an impressive 10 assists. Dericko Williams was a force in the paint, contributing 12 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals. Rounding out the top scorers was Michael Eads Jr., who chipped in 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
The Vikings showcased efficiency, shooting 48.5% from the field and 38.9% from beyond the arc. ECSU narrowly edged Livingstone in the rebounding battle, 37-36, and their defensive pressure forced 13 turnovers, keeping the Blue Bears at bay throughout the contest.
