Vikings secure victory on the road behind Richardson

Richardson goes for 25 points

RICHMOND, VA- The Elizabeth City State men's basketball team (7-14, 4-6 CIAA, 2-2 North) would pick up their first road victory of the season against Virginia Union (7-14, 2-8 CIAA, 3-1 North) with a final score of 77-73 at the Barco-Stevens Hall in  Richmond, VA. 

The Vikings led as many as 16 points in the game. Only giving the lead away one time in the first half this game would be controlled by the Vikings. The Vikings had a stellar shooting night, shooting 47.3% from the field and 45.8% from behind the arc.

Tre Richardson was the catalyst for the Viking's stellar shooting. Richardson would shoot 50% from the field and finished with 25 points.

Senior point guard Christopher Wright was registered with scoring 15 points, and a steal. Reggie Raynor also played an important role, finishing with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and a block. Joseph Thompson tallied his first start of the season and provided productive minutes as well.

Next, the Vikings will travel to Petersburg, Virginia to face the Trojans at the Multipurpose Center on Saturday. The game will start at 4:00 pm.
