Elizabeth City, NC-  In an inaugural display of pride and spirit, the Return of the Vikings event kicked off the fall sports season with a bang, featuring the Marching Sound of Class and the D'Lytes. 

Greetings were presented by SGA President and Mister and Miss ECSU. Cross-country, cheerleading, the reigning CIAA volleyball champions, and the football team would then be recognized, launching their 2023 season. 

The D-Lytes, led by Coach Martin, amplified the atmosphere with their enthusiastic Viking pride. Providing a dazzling routine and charisma it's safe to say a statement will be made.

Volleyball Coach Jeannette Dower shared her excitement, noting, "She is excited and ready to return to the CIAA championship. The volleyball team will need your support!"

"Coach Marcus Hilliard, head of the football team, emphasized the hard work put in by his players. "We've been training and grinding tirelessly, during the off-season. We are not going to talk about it but be about it." 

Athletic Director, James DuBose, expressed his gratitude to those in attendance for the upcoming seasons, stating, "Thank you for your support on today, thank you for the support of our student-athletes. Let's Go Vikings!"

As the afternoon set on the Return of the Vikings, it was evident that the fall sports teams are prepared to compete in their respective sports. With dedication, camaraderie, and Viking Pride driving them, these athletes are poised to make this season one to remember.
