CLEVELAND - The Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) announced the 2022-23 recipients of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards. The Academic Achievement Awards, in its 16th year, is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level.
Elizabeth City State University had 21 athletes recognized for their academic performance in the 2022-23 academic year. The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association had 156 student-athletes recognized. In total, 196 institutions were recognized for the 2022-23 Academic Achievement Awards.
In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, the athletics director must be a current dues-paying member of the D2 ADA.
The student-athlete must:
1. have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
2. have completed a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college-level work at a two-year and/or four-year institution
3. have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year
All student-athletes meeting the above criteria are eligible for this award.
