CIAA Announces Three Vikings For All-CIAA Softball Superlatives

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) announces its 2023 Softball All-Conference teams and superlatives as voted by the CIAA Softball Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association. This year's team is led by CIAA Player of the Year Lindsey George of Bowie State University and CIAA Pitcher of the Year Jaelyn Jackson from Claflin University. The 2022-23 All-CIAA Softball Team was determined by the conference's head coaches and Sports Information Directors.

The Vikings would receive three conference honors from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association including Outfielder, Shortstop, and second-team second base.

Freshman Sikia Kornegay would be named as an outfielder to the 2023 All-CIAA team.  

Freshman Karma Fields would be named as an outfielder to the 2023 All-CIAA team.

Junior Zeta Brown would be named as Secondbase Second team All-CIAA Softball team. 

Winston-Salem State led the conference with nine All-CIAA selections followed by Bowie State and Claflin with eight as well as Virginia State, Lincoln (Pa.), Elizabeth City State with three each, and Shaw with one.
