ECSU Athletic Department Recognizes Student-Athletes at VAAs

Elizabeth City, N.C. - On Monday evening, the Elizabeth City State athletic department recognized the student-athletes for a successful year in the classroom and competition at the annual athletic banquet.
The Viking Athletic Awards setting would be the K.E. White Center, featuring a photo booth for several photo opportunities. A wonderful evening would be emceed by the legendary Stan Lewter.

The award ceremony would begin with the department recognizing dual-sport athletes. Graduating senior athletes would proceed to receive their stoles, and dean's list athletes receive medals for their academic achievement.

The highest team GPA would be awarded to Coach Malcolm Watts and the Tennis team with a team GPA of 3.71.

The Chancellor's Cup would be awarded to a student-athlete having a minimum of three full semesters at ECSU and the highest GPA from the fall semester. Senior Kinesiology Major and cross country/tennis athlete from Gatesville, NC, Keeley Weber, was named the recipient of this prestigious honor.

Community Service award would be awarded to Coach Marcus Hilliard and the Viking football team. Vikings were involved in several initiatives in the community and with the youth.

The night would be capped off with the presentation of the 2022 CIAA Volleyball Champions receiving their championship rings by Director of Athletics, James M. DuBose Jr.
