ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Men's and  Women's Cross Country team will travel to Salem, VA on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 to compete in the CIAA Championships. 

The Championships will take place on Thursday, October 24 at the Green Hill Park in Salem, VA.

"I'm looking forward to our kids competing at a high level this week. They have worked hard in practice and overcame some key injuries," shared Head Coach Daphnie Johnson. "We're looking forward to the challenge and expecting great results. Rise Up Vikings!

The Vikings ran in the East Carolina Invite on October 18 in Greenville, NC. The meet served as good preparation for the team and they are ready for the conference championships. 

ECSU finished 12th in women's and 11th in the men's competition last year.

Coach Johnson is looking for the Vikings to compete hard, with expectations for transfer Jordan Hathaway to place this year during his first Cross Country Championship in the CIAA. Also keep an eye out for Nyla Harris and Felicia Jackson to lead the Vikings on the women's side.
