ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Elizabeth City State University women's bowling team delivered a strong three-day performance at CIAA Event II, combining consistent traditional team play with solid Baker competition to finish the weekend among the top teams in the conference.
During the opening two days of five-person traditional team matches, the Vikings compiled an impressive 7–2 record.
On Day One, ECSU rebounded from an early setback to win four straight matches. The Vikings posted team scores of 586, 565, 803, and 604 in their victories, highlighted by an 803-pin performance that stood as one of the team's top games of the weekend.
ECSU carried that momentum into Day Two, earning a 3–1 record in traditional play. The Vikings secured wins with strong totals of 645, 700, and 666, continuing to show lineup depth and scoring balance across the roster.
Across the traditional format, ECSU demonstrated steady production from its five-player rotation, with multiple bowlers contributing key high-game performances that fueled the team's winning record.
The competition concluded with Baker play, where total-team execution determines scoring. ECSU continued its strong showing in the format, finishing the event with an overall 8–2 mark in conference standings and more than 6,200 total pins recorded across team and Baker competition.
The Vikings' performance positions ECSU as a strong contender heading into the latter portion of CIAA play, as the team continues to build momentum toward postseason competition.
ECSU returns to action at the next CIAA bowling event looking to carry forward the consistency and scoring strength displayed throughout the weekend in Rock Hill.
