HARLEM, NEW YORK – Elizabeth City State's NyAsia Blango has been selected for the 2024 HBCU All-Star Dream Classic, to be played this Saturday, August 10, in New York City's historic Rucker Park.

The HBCU All-Star Dream Classic is a prestigious event celebrating the talent and legacy of historically Black college athletes. For Blango, being selected to participate in this event is a personal honor and a chance to showcase her skills on a national stage. 

"I'm excited to have this experience to play in a historic place, and being able to network and be around other black women who have been to the places I have, and to learn from the women who have been to the places I'm trying to go," exclaimed Blango.

Blango concluded her college career averaging 9 points per game last season with a team-leading 82 assists. The former All-CIAA Guard also topped ECSU in three-pointers made.

"Elizabeth City will always have a special place in my heart. The institution was the only school that took a chance on me. It was a great opportunity to represent a small school and show others that Elizabeth City is among the top HBCUs in the country," stated Blango.
