ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State women's basketball team played against the Lady Trojans on Saturday afternoon at the R.L. Vaughan Center. Unfortunately, the Lady Vikings (16-10, 8-7 CIAA, 6-2 North) lost the game with a final score of 63-59 against the Lady Trojans (19-4, 11-4 CIAA, 5-3 North).

Despite being ranked number one in the North Division, the Vikings had a tough day shooting the basketball, with only a 32% field goal percentage. On the other hand, the Trojans had a great day and finished with a shooting percentage of 50%.

The Lady Vikings were led by seniors
Dy'Jhanik Armfield and
Rasheka Simmons on senior day. Armfield scored 15 points, had 3 rebounds and 4 assists, while Simmons scored 11 points, had 2 rebounds and 2 steals.

The Vikings will return to their home court, the R.L. Vaughan Center, on Wednesday, for their final home game of the 2023-24 season. They will be playing against Virginia Union, tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
