Raleigh, NC---- Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) fell to Shaw University 70-57 in a tough matchup, dropping to 2-4 on the season. Despite solid individual performances, the Vikings couldn't overcome the Bears' strong play.
Vanessa Schwarzmann led the Vikings in scoring with 13 points, fueled by three three-pointers. Kayiona Willis also reached double figures, contributing 10 points while pulling down five rebounds. Ja'yah King-Johnson anchored ECSU on the boards with a team-high nine rebounds, followed by Londen Coleman with eight.
Shakira Perry facilitated the offense, leading the team with four assists. Despite these efforts, the Vikings came up short in their bid to contain Shaw's attack.
ECSU will look to bounce back on November 26th at 11 a.m. against Mid-Atlantic Christian University during Community Education Day at the R.L. Vaughan Center.
