Lady Vikings top the Big Blue for a Division Win

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State women's basketball team (11-7, 3-5 CIAA) won their first divisional game against Bluefield State (10-6, 4-4 CIAA) on Sunday afternoon at the R.L. Vaughan Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, with a final score of 65-54.

The game started as a defensive battle, with both teams focusing on stopping entry passes to the post and beating the opposing team's zone. The Lady Vikings managed to find their rhythm in the second half.

Dy'Jhanik Armfield led the Lady Vikings, finishing the game with 13 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal. 

NyAsia Blango also had a good performance, shooting 50 percent from the field and 2-5 from behind the arc, and finishing the game with 12 points, two rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

The Vikings will continue their division play on Wednesday, January 24, when they travel to Lincoln University (PA) to face the Lions. Tip-off is at 5:30 pm.
