Vikings Secure Sweep Over the Lions

Elizabeth City, N.C. - The Elizabeth City State Vikings would secure a sweep against the Lincoln Lions at South Park Sports Complex, Saturday afternoon. 

The Vikings improved their overall record to 9-15 and moved their conference tally to (9-7). 

Game 1- Base running would be a focal point with the Vikings. Among the Vikings scorers was Camden, North Carolina native Skylar Hyatt, who recorded three RBIs. The Vikings also recorded three stolen bases in the game, one closing out the lions with a score of 4 to 3.

Game 2- The momentum kept rolling as Elizabeth City State drove to their second victory of the day. With Karrigan Belangia in the circle for the Vikings, the defense would only allow five hits and only allow two runs. The bats would be hot for Elizabeth City State as they would connect on ten hits. Sophomore Karma Fields, would hit a double in the bottom of the first inning and record a single RBI. Senior Alexis Monroe would also find the home plate in the bottom of the fourth inning as she was brought home by her teammate being walked. The final score was 10 to 2. 

The Vikings are back in action as we honor our Senior players for a job well done in between their doubleheader with Bowie State University on April 23, 2023, first pitch is slated for 2:00 PM at South Park Sports Complex in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
