Box Score 2 Elizabeth City, N.C. - On Saturday afternoon, the softball team split the day versus Shaw University in a doubleheader at South Park Sports Complex.
Game 1- With first-year student duo Sikia Korneagy and Karma Fields having hot bats on the afternoon, Korneagy would go 2-4, and Fields would go 2-3 in the batter's box and add an RBI each to their outstanding performances. The Bears would counter in the top of the 5th inning and get three scores over two innings on plays from Williams, Walker, and Chavis. The first game would conclude with a 6-7 Shaw Bears score.
Game 2- The Bears came out swinging. Regina DeDecker for the Bears would get on base with a bunt and later score with help from teammate Sas'kia Stephens. The Vikings would rally for game number two with sixteen hits and scoring twelve points. Camdyn Peck and exceptional fielding would hold the Bears scoreless for the remainder of the game. Vikings would pick up the win for game two, finishing the day with a 12-1 score. The Vikings move their overall record to 7-12 (7-4).
