Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) will honor the 2022 CIAA Championship-winning volleyball team and 2023 CIAA Championship-winning women's basketball team in a community celebration on Thursday, March 2, 2023, beginning at 6 p.m., in the Robert L. Vaughan Center on the university's campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will include a meet and greet with the teams and Head Volleyball Coach David Brooks and Head Women's Basketball Coach Tynesha Lewis.

The volleyball team captured the 2022 CIAA Volleyball Tournament Championship on November 12, 2022, in Salem, Virginia, in a 3-1 upset over Shaw University.

The women's basketball team is the first in ECSU's history to earn a CIAA Women's Basketball Tournament Championship following a 55-40 win over Shaw University on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the CIAA Tournament in Baltimore, Md.
