Box Score Elizabeth City, NC. – The Elizabeth City State University Women's Tennis team opened their spring season at home against Bowie State University on Saturday, March 5, 2022. The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Vikings with a 5-2 final score.

In Doubles match ups, Lady Vikings #1 doubles team of senior and team captain Andrea Nevola and freshman Juelle St. Clair powered over Bowie State University's Kayla Lowery and Aria Mason by the score of 6-2. ECSU lost #2 doubles and #3 doubles 6-2, 6-0 respectively.   

In #1 Singles slot, Elizabeth City State University's Andrea Nevola was successful over Bowie State University's Kayla Lowery 6-3, 6-3; and in the #5 slot ECSU freshman Naomi Joseph surpassed BSU's Danaij Rose 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.

"This is a great group", stated ECSU's Head Coach Richard Harfst. "They have good chemistry together and really support each other. It was nice to see Naomi pull it out in Singles and to see Andrea win her Singles and Doubles with Juelle. Every player on this team has the right attitude; I'm looking forward to seeing their progress this season".

The Lady Vikings return to action on the road March 12, 2022, at CIAA opponent Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.
