The Vikings Claim First Win, Splitting the Day 1-1 Against FSU

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Elizabeth City, N.C. -The Vikings claim their first win of the season with a phenomenal fifth inning comeback to split the day 1-1 against Fayetteville State University in today's doubleheader.

The Vikings improve to (1-5) to start the season after today's contests against the Broncos (1-5).

"They played like the team I know them to be, with a little fight in them," said head coach Erin Forbes. "This was the confidence boost we needed to propel us into the weekend."

"It felt good to get a win," said shortstop Alexis Monroe. "I think what made us work harder was the fact that we took this game personal. We executed when we needed to, and our defense and offense worked hard."
