Box Score Elizabeth City, NC – The Vikings secured their first win of the season in today's home-opener defeating Bowie State 6-1.
The Vikings improve to a (1-1 overall, 1-1 CIAA) record to start the season.
ECSU dominated the Bulldogs in the doubles going 3-0.
Sanda Oo and
Ma-tewah Tamba took a 8-7 edge over Stewart and Tucker,
D'Kota Hinton-Louis and
Kaylee Williams claimed their set against Byrom and Eason 8-5, while
Andrea Nevola and
Beatriz Neto knocked off Appolon and Bridgett 8-4.
The Vikings captured five of the six singles sets; highlighted by Hinton-Louis and Neto holding their opponents scoreless 6-0, 6-0.
The Bulldogs point came from Tamia Byrom's set against Williams 7-6, 4-6.
The Vikings will travel to Johnson C. Smith University to compete in the CIAA Round Up March 21-22 in Charlotte, NC.
