Box Score ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Vikings hold off the Trojans on the road to clinch a 61-60 victory in conference play.

The Vikings improve to 8-12 overall on the season, 4-5 in the CIAA

Sophomore Guard Asia Deal (Norfolk, VA) led all scorers in the contest with her 22-point performance.
 
Senior forward Devona Stell (Atlanta, GA) followed up with 18 points and sophomore forward Sireann Pitts (Raleigh, NC) closed out the Vikings double-digit scoring with 13 points.
 
Pitts also led the Vikings rebounding efforts with eight boards in the game.

The Trojans were led in scoring by Natalia Leaks who recorded 20 points..
 
ECSU shot 40 percent from the field, 21.4 percent from behind the arc, and 90 percent at the line.
 
VSU shot 39.3 percent from the field, 45 percent from behind the arc, and 46.7 percent at the line. 

The Vikings started the game on an 8-2 run with multiple Vikings scoring the basketball early.
 
Both teams had an even scoring second quarter sending the Vikings into the half with a 23-20 lead.
 
The Vikings maintained their lead for most of the second half, but VSU managed to tie the game several times keeping the Vikings on their toes.
 
ECSU's defensive efforts played a crucial role in coming away with the Victory as the game came down to the final seconds and ECSU held the 1-pt lead.

The Vikings will take on the Blue Bears of Livingstone College on Thursday, January 30th. Tip off is slated for 5:30 pm.
