LIVINGSTONE SERIES LOOK
There is some history between the two schools as Elizabeth City State and Livingstone first faced off back in 1939. Livingstone represents the second longest CIAA rival for the Vikings as ECSU faced off against Fayetteville State the week before the Blue Bears back in 1939. The Vikings currently hold a 32-9 advantage in the series against Livingstone. These two last faced off against each other in 2015 as ECSU took the 41-9 victory. Elizabeth City State has won the last seven matchups against Livingstone dating back to 2004.
OFFENSIVE DOMINATION BY THE VIKINGS
Elizabeth City State has outscored Livingstone 204-42 in their last four meetings. (2015, 2014, 2011, and 2007)
REYNOLDS STARTS OFF YEAR STRONG
Junior
Taeyonn Reynolds led the Viking defensive attack against Hampton as the junior registered seven tackles on the evening.
Desmond Mitchell and Eric Seabon both registered tackles for losses in the contest as well.
LOOK AT LIVINGSTONE
Livingstone comes into the contest having traveled to Atlanta and defeated Clark Atlanta in their first contest of the 2019 season by a 24-13 score. The Panthers jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first half before the Blue Bears put a stop to the Clark Atlanta offense and scored 24 unanswered points.
ROAD WARRIORS
This contest marks the second of six road trips for the Vikings during the 2019 campaign. The Vikings dropped their first contest on the road at Hampton and will travel to North Carolina Central (Sept. 21), St. Augustine's (Oct. 5), Chowan (Oct. 26) and Virginia Union (Nov. 2). The Vikings will not be traveling but so far for those six contests though as combined they will only travel 911 miles for the six contests. The longest road trip of the year will be the Livingstone trip as the Vikings will make the 292 mile haul for their next road contest.
HURRICANE DORIAN UPSETS WEEKEND OF EVENTS AT ECSU
ECSU's contest vs. Allen on September 7th was postponed due to Hurricane Dorian's apparance on the North Carolina coastline. That game will now be made up on Friday, November 15th. Chancellor Karrie G. Dixon will be holding her Installation Ceremony and Ball during the weekend of October 12th when the Vikings host Virginia State. ECSU Athletics will also be hosting their annual Roast and Toast Ceremony during that weekend as well.
