ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. -- On a blustery day in Elizabeth City, the Elizabeth City State University women's tennis team dropped a conference matchup with Virginia State University, 7-0, at the ECSU Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the doubles competition, the Vikings were bested in all three matches by scores of 6-1, 6-0, and 6-1.Â
In the singles competition, the Vikings played valiantly but were defeated in all six matches.
Beatriz Neto was able to win three games in her match before dropping her match 6-3, 6-0. Tenel Kearney,
Jamiah Faison, and D'Kota Hinton-Lewis were defeated in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0.
Sanda Oo was able to win two of her games before dropping her match 6-1, 6-1.
Kaylee Williams had the most competitive singles match of the afternoon as Williams won six games but dropped her contest to Zimiaris Smith 6-3, 6-3.
