Tennis Falls at Home to Salem

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. -- In a contest that was pushed back by a day due to rain in the Elizabeth City area, the Elizabeth City State University women's tennis team dropped a 6-0 decision to visiting Salem University on Friday at the ECSU Tennis Complex.

ECSU (0-4) saw the most success in the doubles competition as Beatriz Neto and Kaylee Williams were able to pick up two games against the number one set of doubles from Salem (9-2).

Beatriz Neto was able to win a game in the singles competition against the number one contender from Salem, Jucia Piatek, but dropped the match 6-1, 6-0.

Te'nel Kearney, Sanda Oo, D'Kota Hinton-Lewis and Kaylee Williams all lost in straight sets during the singles competition.

The Vikings have a quick turnaround as they head to Charlotte to face off against Winston-Salem State University, Johnson C. Smith University and Livingstone College in the Johnson C. Smith CIAA Round-Up this weekend.
