ELIZABETH CITY N.C. – The Elizabeth City State University softball team will start their home slate of games for the 2019 season with a doubleheader against Brevard College on Tuesday. The first pitch of the first concert is slated for 2:00 p.m. at the Elizabeth City State Softball Complex.

The Vikings (0-2) come into the contest with having dropped their season opening contests to UNC Pembroke back on February 10
th. ECSU dropped the first contest by a 10-0 score and dropped the second contest 11-3.
Alexis Blackwell and
Kali Flanagan both registered two hits in the second contest and both registered an RBI in the contest.

This contest will mark the first of the 2019 campaign for Division III member Brevard. Last season the Tornadoes garnered an 11-19 record overall and while they played a full slate of USA South Conference games they were not full members of the conference due to their transition from Division II to Division III.

The Tornadoes welcome back Emily White who led the team with a .364 batting average and 20 RBI during the 2018 campaign. The sophomore infielder will be the leader offensively for Brevard. The Tornadoes have an extremely young roster with 11 freshmen and no seniors on their roster for 2019.
