Vikings Host Lions for Homecoming 2019

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Vikings will host the Lions of Lincoln University for Homecoming 2019 on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Kick-off is slated for 1:30 p.m. at Roebuck Stadium. Vikings, Viking alumni, fans, family, and friends, there's no better time than now to unleash that Viking pride, Viking pride, Viking pride!

The Vikings enter Saturday's contest with a 1-5 overall record, 1-3 in conference play.

The Lions and Vikings battled it out to the wire when both teams met in Lincoln, PA last season, but LU came away with the 21-20 win. Over the past decade, the Vikings have overpowered the Lions 9-1 in the all-time series.

"We owe it to you all and the Seniors, you have given us a great fan base," said Deshon Saunders (Suffolk, VA) "We're going to come out and give you guys a great show and definitely come away with the win."

Saunders leads the Vikings offense ground attack amassing a total of 252 yards on 72 carries this season and a pair of touchdowns.

Keep an eye out for Senior Dajuan Greene (Washington, D.C.) who has made some big catches recording a season-long of 65 yards for a touchdown in last weeks loss to the Trojans. Greene currently leads the Vikings offense with 21 receptions for 368 yards this season.

Lawrence Brown fuels the Vikings defensive efforts with a total of 34 tackles(15 solo).

The Lions currently stand at 0-6 overall, 0-3 in conference play. Dahmear Tripplett leads the Lions with 236 yards on 19 receptions, while Shoye Sampson accounts for 227 yards in the air for LU.

Defensively the duo of Islam Abdul-Rabb and Devon Cathcart can be expected to make plays for the Lions on defense.

Both teams hungry for a CIAA win, you can expect to see a great game, while the Vikings put on a show Saturday at Roebuck Stadium.
