ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Elizabeth City State University women's basketball team will play their final non-conference game of the season as they host West Virginia State University in a 1:00 p.m. tilt inside the R.L. Vaughan Center on Friday, January 4^th.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The women's basketball team made the nearly 400-mile road trip to Bluefield, West Virginia to take on Bluefield State College on December 30. ECSU was able to come away with the 75-53 win over the Big Blues and run their non-conference record to 6-3 on the season. Junior Naterria Luster leads the offensive attack for the Vikings on the season as the Richmond native is averaging 17.6 points per contest.

SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS
West Virginia State comes into the contest with a 3-8 record overall and a 2-4 mark in Mountain East Conference play. The Yellow Jackets have played a host of CIAA schools already this season including a win against Livingstone and losses to Chowan and Winston-Salem State. Their last contest was a 76-74 home defeat at the hands of the Rams on December 31^st.
 
The Yellow Jackets play an up-tempo offense as they score almost 80 points a game, while giving up 86 points per contest. WVSU boasts an even scoring attack as well as they have two players averaging in double figures including Anesha Harmon and Jordan Miller who average 13.5 and 12.7 points per contest. The Yellow Jackets also have two other players who average 9.6 and 9.5 points per game in Alexandra Jackson and Lyrin Hatcher. Rebounding effectively will be a key point for the Vikings as the Yellow Jackets currently allow their opponents to 10 more rebounds per contest.
