ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - The Elizabeth City State University women's team returns to conference play facing Livingstone College in New Trent Gymnasium Thursday, January 5 at 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Vikings (4-7; 2-1) are coming off a 47-36 tough defeat to a good shooting Salem International University squad on last Friday evening in the Vaughan Center. Senior center Jazmine Nixon recorded her first double-double on the season, scoring 18 points and grabbing eleven boards in the effort.

As a team for the season, ECSU is shooting .334 percent from the field, .176 percent from behind the arc, and .567 percent from the candy stripe. Elizabeth City State outshoots its opponent in the first quarter (110 to 107), fourth quarter (151 to 146) and in overtime (12 to 8).

Sophomore guard Jalyn Brown spearheads the team in points per game with 11.3; while Nixon leads the Lady Vikings in rebounds with 7.6 per contest. In the three conference games played, Brown paces the team with 15.7 points per contest; while Nixon averages nine boards per game.

ECSU shoots .331 percent from the floor, .206 percent from downtown, and .619 percent from the line in conference action. The Lady Vikings are held in check in the first and third quarters but outscores its opponents in the second (38 to 25) and fourth quarters (44 to 42).

LC (5-7; 0-2) enters Friday's contest after defeating Lenoir-Rhyne University 76-61 this past Monday at home. As a team, the Blue Bears average 69.1 points per contest; while shooting .354 percent from the field, .260 percent from the candy stripe, and .670 percent from the line.

Zena Lovette leads LC averaging 16.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Brittany Taylor averages 13.8 and Ari Dejesus averages 13.3 points per contest to round out the scorers in double-figures.
