March 6, 2016 Final Stats
RALEIGH, NC- The Clarion University Golden Eagles held on for a 6-5 victory over Elizabeth City State University Sunday afternoon at Walnut Creek Park.
The Lady Vikings scored three in the top of the first inning until an RBI single by Christina Tressler scored Casey Wilcox for a 3-1 score. The Golden Eagles moved in front with a 3 run, 4 hit turn in the second inning and tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fifth.
After Rachel Gilliken scored on an error in the sixth, Emmesha White's SAC bunt scored Kelsey White to make the score 6-5.
Kayley Surrento finished the game with two hits and Kambrie Robinson drove in two runs in the loss.
The Lady Vikings (1-8) will open up CIAA play at the annual softball roundup back at the Walnut Creek Complex. They will begin against Livingstone College on Friday, March 18th against Livingstone College. Game time is scheduled for 2pm.
