ELIZABETH CITY, N.C.. - The Elizabeth City State University women basketball team fell to Benedict College 50-43 Friday evening and loss to Miles College Saturday afternoon at the Vaughan Center during its 2016 ECSU Classic.

After dropping two, the Lady Vikings fall to 0-3 on the season. ECSU got off to a rocky start in their opener against the Lady Bears and found their rhythm late against the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Vikings shot 21.4 percent from the field, were 0-for-5 from behind the arc, and 87.5 percent from the line in the first half against Miles. Elizabeth City State kept it close heading into the second quarter, although being behind by six, 17-11.

Miles took a 28-19 lead into halftime but the Lady Vikings came out after the half poised. ECSU went on a 12-4 run to bring the game within two, 32-30.

Guard Jalyn Brown paced ECSU with 17 points for the game; while guard D'Asya Wilson added seven in the effort. Center Ty'Ais Cooper, forward Jazmine Nixon, and center Tantania Brown all recorded six points each, respectfully.

As a team, the Lady Vikings shot 29.4 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from behind the arc, and 55.6 percent from the candy stripe.

ECSU travels to Florence, S.C. to face Francis Marion University in Smith University Center, Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m.
