ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The University of Mount Olive earned two non-conference victories defeating Elizabeth City State University 18-0 and 10-1 Tuesday afternoon at Enfield Park
The Trojans move to 17-11 overall while the Lady Vikings fall to 2-18 on the season. Mount Olive totaled 34 hits in Tuesday's doubleheader.
In game one UMO's Savannah Becker was 4 for 4 with two RBI in an 18-0 shutout. The Trojans more than doubled ECSU in at bats 37-16 and scored runs in each of the five innings played. Catlin Ewers went the distance allowing only two hits in the win and upped her pitching record to 3-1 on the year.
Both teams had 15 putouts in game one.
In the nightcap the Lady Vikings managed three hits and scored their lone run in the bottom of the fifth in a 10-1 setback. Kayley Surrento was 2-2 in game two while Tiara Webb got a single and accounted for ECSU's only run.
The Trojans scattered 10 hits in game two and blew the game open with five runs in their half of the 5th inning.
The Lady Vikings will return to action in a non-conference double header against Virginia State on April 9th in Petersburg, VA.
