Final Stats

RALEIGH, NC- The Elizabeth City State University softball team notched their first two wins of the season at the final day of the 2015 CIAA Roundup on Sunday afternoon.

ECSU opened the day with a convincing 13-5 win over Livingstone College to earn their first victory of the season. Trailing 4-1 through three complete innings, back to back solo home runs in the top of the 4th from Jessica White and Kelsey White, sparked an ECSU rally. The Lady Vikings scored runs in each of their remaining trips to the plate and blew the game open with five runs in the final at bat.

Rachel Gilliken went the distance for her first win of the year, fanning 10 Blue Bears along the way.

Against Johnson C. Smith, Jessica White's RBI single in the bottom of the 7th inning scored Lilyann Arnold for a thrilling 5-4 win. The Lady Golden Bulls jumped out to a 3-0 only to see ECSU erase their lead with a four run inning in the bottom of the 5th. JCSU added a run to tie the game in the top of the 6th setting up White's game winning hit for ECSU.

In their final game of the weekend the Lady Vikings short two game win streak was snapped by Fayetteville State. The Lady Broncos scored four runs in both the third and fifth innings to cruise to an 8-2 victory.

ECSU will return to action in a division double header against Chowan University on Saturday, March 28th in Murfreesboro, NC.
